Planing Pros

Why using DOUBLE side planerS

CHECK THE PROS !

Both sides are planed together, meaning that you can achieve perfect parallelism between top and bottom surfaces with a tolerance of +/- 0.1mm.
It represents a good alternative to the conventional combo of jointer & thicknesser, when the wood is not heavily warped.

In addition, as the planing power is allocated on two independent cutterhead motors, the operator can feed wood boards at a faster pace, up to 18 meters per minute.
Noting that the risk of snipe (deeper cuts on the material ends) requires fine and skilled setting, especially on pressure rollers.

In one path, you can cut down your planing processing time by almost a half. That works even better when you use long wood pieces, and when your stock is properly prepared with sorted groups of similar thicknesses & widths.

Since you need only one path to reach your goal, the strict minimum thickness is removed on both sides, generating optimal process with less wood material waste. Again, this makes sense when your wood material is well prepared in advance.

Finally, you only need one machine to proceed with top & bottom surface planing, saving significant working space in your factory for other tasks.
Besides, it also requires more power supply with a strong dust collection system, all set on a solid and secure ground.
